Amy Pollack, principal and design director, has worked more than 25 years as a graphic designer and art director. Before starting her own design firm, she was an art director at Young and Rubicam International, Inc. in New York, where she worked on such accounts as Gillette, General Foods, Warner Lambert, Dr Pepper and Johnson & Johnson. At Ogilvy and Mather in New York, her clients included Avon, TWA, Kimberly-Clark, Lever Brothers, General Foods, Hathaway, Clairol and Par Parfums. She also was art director at WTAF-TV 29 in Philadelphia, senior art director at Weightman Advertising Inc. in Philadelphia, and design associate at Cygnus Publications Inc.
Amy Pollack has special expertise in the Jewish nonprofit world. With a strong Jewish background that includes the ability to do Hebrew typesetting, she serves the needs of Jewish nonprofits by understanding both the culture and religion. Outside of the office, her personal experience as an alumnus of Camp Ramah in Canada, editor of her congregation’s newsletter for more than 10 years, longstanding synagogue board member, chairperson of SynaplexTM and member of a Jewish Women’s Spirituality Reading Group has made her a valuable resource to clients. These include the Jewish Publication Society, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Moving Traditions, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) and numerous congregations with various affiliations.
She earned a BFA with honors from Washington University School of Art in St. Louis and received training at the Rhode Island School of Design, the School of Visual Arts in New York and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Most recently, she earned a Master’s Certificate in Internet Marketing from the University of San Francisco. In this program, she studied integrated online strategies including social media, web analytics, affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertising and SEO.
Pollack was a finalist in the 1999 Philly Gold Awards for Creative Excellence in the category of logo design. In 2008, Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill, New Jersey received a Silver Solomon Schechter Award for a membership brochure created by Pollack. In 2011 Congregation Ohev Shalom in Wallingford, PA received a Silver Solomon Schechter Award for its web site, which Pollack art directed.
In her free time, Amy loves to be in her garden. She also enjoys cooking, riding her bicycle and reading.
